The Township Municipal Office is closed to the public for all purposes until further notice
The Township of Amaranth has declared an emergency in response to a flooding situation at the Township Municipal Office. The Township has taken this step, most importantly, to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and residents.
During this emergency, Council and Staff are working to ensure that the municipality operates effectively and continues to provide essential services. Staff can be contacted by telephone at 519-941-1007 or email at info@amaranth.ca. Staff will endeavour to respond to phone messages and emails during regular working hours, but an immediate response may not be possible. Please consider using the drop box at the office for correspondence as it will be checked on a regular basis.

Online Credit Card Payments Now Available
The Township of Amaranth now offers a convenient way to pay your property taxes, water account, building permits, dog tags and municipal invoices online using a credit card with our secure payment provider (fees apply).
What You’ll Need:
19-digit roll number (found on your property tax bill)
Customer number, invoice number or building permit number located on your invoice
The amount you wish to pay
A valid credit card
Note: When paying using a credit card a convenience fee will be applied to the payment amount.

There will be NO INTERRUPTIONS to waste collection over Easter. Please place all garbage, Blue Boxes and Green Bins out for collection on your REGULAR collection day next week.
The strong low-pressure system that moved into the region early Friday, March 31, resulted in 30-60 mm of rain throughout the Grand River watershed. Thunderstorms overnight resulted in periods of intense rainfall. Watershed received an additional 10 to 20 mm of rain through the day on Saturday.
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) is issuing the following updated combined Flood Warning/Flood Watch message.
The strong low-pressure system that moved into the region early Friday, March 31, resulted in 30-60 mm of rain throughout the Grand River watershed.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) advises that the Credit River watershed received 30-35 mm of rain during Friday March 31st and overnight thunderstorms. Also, the Environment of Canada is forecasting risk of thunderstorms this afternoon.
CVC advises that Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s (MNRF) is forecasting a low-pressure weather system expecting to bring 5-10 mm of rainfall on Thursday, March 23rd . Another low-pressure weather system expecting to bring from 10 mm to 15 mm of rain and snow on Saturday, March 25th .
Please be advised that the road conditions are changing with the thawing, rain and weather which will cause difficult road conditions resulting in many potholes on our roads. Our Roads Crew is out doing as much as possible with the changing weather to get the roads graded and repaired. We ask that you please drive carefully to the road conditions and be patient with us as we get to all effected Township roads. Thank you.

2023 Amaranth Soccer Program
The 2023 soccer registration is now open. The season will run from June 7 to August 9, 2023 with an end of season BBQ on Wednesday August 16th, 2023 for participants and coaching staff. Registration fee is $80.00 per child. Fee includes a uniform, trophy and BBQ. The league is co-ed and non-competitive for ages 4 - 16 years. Completed registration forms and payment (cash or cheque) will be accepted at the Amaranth Municipal Office and can also be placed in the drop box or mailed to 374028 6th Line, Amaranth ON, L9W 0M6.
