Significant Weather Event Declaration Notice - December 29, 2025
Pursuant to s.16.9 of O.Reg. 239/02 as amended, the Township of Amaranth is declaring a Significant Weather Event in respect to snow accumulation, blowing snow and reduced visibility, starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday December 29, 2025, and continuing until further notice. Users of the roads in the Township are advised to avoid any unnecessary travel and to use caution if doing so. The Township will issue a public notice when this Significant Weather Event has ended.
PLEASE NOTE: The Township has paused snow control operations due to poor visibility during this time and will resume when the conditions warrant.

Holiday Office Closure 2025-2026
The Township of Amaranth Municipal Office will be closed:
Thursday, December 25th, 2025 to Friday, January 2nd, 2026
We will resume regular office hours on Monday, January 5th, 2026 at 8:30am.

Online Credit Card Payments Now Available
The Township of Amaranth now offers a convenient way to pay your property taxes, water account, building permits, dog tags and municipal invoices online using a credit card with our secure payment provider (fees apply).
What You’ll Need:
19-digit roll number (found on your property tax bill)
Customer number, invoice number or building permit number located on your invoice
The amount you wish to pay
A valid credit card
Note: When paying using a credit card a convenience fee will be applied to the payment amount.

Yard waste season begins in April!
Collection for Yard Waste Week A: Orangeville & Yard Waste Rural areas begins the week of April 1st.
There will be NO interruptions to waste collection over the Canada Day holiday. Please place all Garbage, Blue Boxes & Green Bins out for collection on your REGULAR collection day during the week of July 3rd. For missed collections, call GFL at 1.888.941.3345 ext. 1.
Starting July 1st Blue Box transition will be in effect. Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) will oversee the residential Blue Box program in Dufferin County. Please direct all residential recycling inquiries to CMO’s contractor GFL.
