Dufferin County Press Release - December 24 2022
For Immediate Release: December 24, 2022
All Dufferin County roads remain closed due to treacherous travel conditions. Those with plans to travel through the area urged to please change plans.
All Dufferin County roads remain closed under order from Ontario Provincial Police due to ongoing treacherous travel conditions. Travel is extremely dangerous, with zero visibility, drifting snow and ice in many areas. Emergency services and plows are having difficulty getting to where they need to go in some areas. Many roads are impassable, and vehicles are getting stuck and being stranded.
Dufferin County urges anyone with plans to travel through the area for the holidays to please stay home and avoid travel until conditions improve.
Travelers can visit www.dufferincounty.ca for the status of winter maintenance operations and road closures.

Significant Weather Event
Dufferin County has declared a Significant Weather Event due to significant danger to users of the road network. The County’s road network is currently in a state of repair, meaning while it is providing the best winter maintenance service possible, it is taking longer than normal to perform typical winter maintenance activities.
