Township of Amaranth Draft Official Plan Update - Notice of Open House
April 22nd, 2026 @ 6:00 p.m.
Township of Amaranth Municipal Office - 374028 6th Line, Amaranth ON
The Official Plan for the Township of Amaranth establishes guidance for future land use planning and development in the Township. Using both text and maps, the Official Plan identifies areas of agricultural lands, areas for future growth, areas to be protected from development and the location and classification of current and future roads. The Official Plan also describes the policies and procedures to be followed when planning the development of land and provision of municipal services.
The Township has been undergoing an update to the Official Plan. A Background Report was prepared by consultants (MHBC) earlier in the process, and formed the basis of work on the Official Plan updates. The Draft Official Plan updates have been prepared and are available for community comment and review.
An Open House is being planned in order to share information about the updates to the Official Plan. The Open House is planned to occur on April 22nd, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Township Office. Community members are invited to attend the open house to review materials and speak to the project team, as well as Township staff.
Additional information about the Official Plan Update, including draft documents, can be found on the Township of Amaranth website at: https://www.amaranth.ca/municipal-government/planning-development/
