Public Members are appointed by Council to certain special purpose bodies, concurrent with term of Council. Anyone interested in serving must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian Citizen, a resident of the Township and not employed by the Board or the municipality. Below is a current list of Committees and Boards.
Council has approved the formation of a committee to explore the concerns of stray bullets and discharging of firearms within the Township. The role of the committee is to explore the concerns and provide avenues of resolution to Council.

South West Dufferin OPP Detachment Board
On April 1, 2024, the Province of Ontario proclaimed the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019, S.O. 2019 which mandates that communities serviced by the OPP replace their Police Services Boards with OPP Detachment Boards. The Province of Ontario has directed that the Town of Grand Valley, Township of Amaranth and Township of East Garafraxa shall form one OPP Detachment Board.
