February 19, 2026 Update

After careful consideration, the County Planning Division has determined that delaying the presentation of a staff report regarding the County Official Plan Amendment for the lands municipally known 514504 2nd Line, Amaranth to Council is necessary. The feedback received at the public meeting on February 12th prompted the Planning Division to reevaluate whether all of the submitted technical materials were appropriately reviewed. It was determined that a more comprehensive review of the engineering technical materials (i.e. servicing and stormwater report, hydrogeological report, and geotechnical report) is required prior to a staff report being presented. The Planning Division believes that this review will allow for the staff report, and the associated recommendation, to be more fulsome and provided with much greater strength. At this point in time, the County Planning Division is preparing to present the report at the April 9th, 2026 Council meeting.
