On Wednesday, July 10, 2019 the Council of the Township of Amaranth will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed development charges (D.C.) by-law and underlying background study.
All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting of Council and any person who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed D.C. by-law and background study. The meeting is to be held:

In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, the background study is being made available online by June 20, 2019. Copies of the proposed D.C. by-law and the background study are also being made available by June 20, 2019 from the municipal Clerk at the Township Administration Office at 374028 6th Line, Amaranth, ON L9W 0M6.
Interested persons may express their comments at the public meeting or in writing, addressed to the municipal Clerk, at the above address by July 10, 2019, and such written submissions will be placed before Council for the meeting.
The Council of the Township of Amaranth passed a municipal-wide Development Charges By-law 43-2019 on August 21, 2019. The By-law contains a new rate schedule which shall come into effect on August 31, 2019. The revised Development Charges brochure will be posted shortly.
The Notice of Passing of Municipal-wide Development Charges By-law was prepared on August 22, 2019. Any person or organization may appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal under section 14 of the Act, in respect of the Development Charges by-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Township of Amaranth on or before the 30th day of September, 2019 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons supporting the objection.
