Credit Valley Conservation is advising that Environment Canada is forecasting showers and thunderstorms that will move across the watershed this afternoon, producing heavy rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres.  Higher amounts will also be possible in locations with intense rainfall activity. Soils are saturated and stream flows are moderately elevated across parts of the forecast area due to recent rainfall.

While flooding of the main Credit River and tributaries is not expected, high stream levels and flooding in low laying flood prone areas can occur during intense downpours.

As a result, local streams and rivers will become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, dams and bridges.  Children should be warned, and pets kept away from all watercourses.

CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed. The Watershed Conditions Statement for Flood Outlook will be in effect through Friday 9th July 2021, or until further notice.
