Office Closure - Easter 2024

The Township of Amaranth Municipal Office will be closed from Friday, March 29th, 2024 to Monday, April 1st, 2024 and will resume regular operating hours Tuesday, April 2nd at 8:30am.

Council and staff would like to wish residents a very happy and safe Easter weekend.

Council of The Township of Amaranth has supported Sunday Gun Hunting within the Township. 

This will not be formally implemented or allowed until the Provincial Regulation has been officially updated.

Yard waste season begins in April!

Collection for Yard Waste Week A: Orangeville & Yard Waste Rural areas begins the week of April 1st.

Residents in Rural areas must call GFL at 1-888-941-3345 ext. 1 one week in advance to be added to the collection list.

Environment Canada and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s (MNRF) Surface Water Monitoring Centre (SWMC) is forecasting significant rainfall for Friday through Saturday with amounts ranging from 20 to 40mm or higher.

Grand River Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety March 8, 2024

A strong low-pressure system is forecast to move through the Grand River watershed starting late Friday, March 8, 2024 through to Sunday, March 10, bringing widespread rain and potentially mixed precipitation or snow as the system tapers off on Sunday. The bulk of the rain, up to 25 mm is forecast for Saturday, March 9. In total, 20 to 40 mm of precipitation is expected across the watershed by the time the system moves out of the area on Sunday.
